Degradation of Lindane by persulfate/ferrioxalate/solar light process: Influential operating parameters, kinetic model and by-products

چکیده
This work describes the removal of lindane by persulfate activated with ferrioxalate under simulated solar light irradiation and circumneutral pH conditions. The influence main operating parameters is evaluated, a kinetic model based on radical mechanism proposed validated. To do this, synthetic solutions polluted different amounts oxidant catalyst were employed. Results show that it possible to completely remove in 300 min using 2.29 mM 0.12 ferrioxalate. Furthermore, chloride mineralization higher than 90% achieved these On other hand, intermediate organic compounds are identified, degradation pathway formation sulfonated organics proposed. Finally, fits well experimental results can help predict more complex effluents

Degradation of lindane by Escherichia coli.
Lindane was degraded by Escherichia coli isolated from rat feces. About 10% of the added lindane was metabolized by the bacterium in Trypticase soy broth containing the pesticide. A single metabolite, 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloro-1-cyclohexene, was detected and identified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
